Melba’s – Situated in Surfers Paradise on Queensland’s Gold Coast is a Bar, Restaurant and Club Complex catering to a wide mix of patrons including a hardcore following of locals and visiting tourists from all over the globe. An upscale venue with a “no expense spared” approach to decor, lighting and sound.

Mick James and his team from Venutech, one of Australia’s most innovative and successful installation contractors, designed and installed a new generation Acoustic Technologies sound system. A total of 13 zones of full stereo sound with dedicated sub-bass, including a dance floor system and live music P.A. controlled by 2 Audia Flex Digital Loudspeaker Management Systems. A staggering total of 63x Acoustic Technologies LG09 Speakers, all décor matched, are utilised throughout the venue with the exception being the dance floor system in the Nightclub. This incorporates 8x Acoustic Technologies Element 3.2 Speakers coupled to 6x Acoustic Technologies SB03 Sub Bass Cabinets each handling 4,000 watts of program power. The live music component utilises Acoustic Technologies FR09 Speakers.

All speaker systems throughout Melbas are powered by amplifiers from the European manufacturer “Ecler” with 7x Ecler DT6800 and 2x Ecler DT4800 Tri-Level Digital Power Amplifiers taking care of the Niteclub and Live Music and a further 16x DT4800 amplifiers powering the remaining areas.

Full credit must be given to Melbas’ owners for their vision and approach in creating one of Australia’s most prestigious venues.
